Isaiah/ISAIAH 7:1o-14

[Nabulod ti ladawan a nausar]

The LORD spoke to Ahaz, saying:
Ask for a sign from the LORD, your God;
let it be deep as the netherworld, or high as the sky!
But Ahaz answered,
"I will not ask!  I will not tempt the LORD!"
Then Isaiah said:
Listen, O house of David!
Is it not enough for you to weary people,
must you also weary my God?
Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign:
the virgin shall conceive, and bear a son,
and shall name him Emmanuel.

Responsorio ti Salmo a Pagsurnad
Salmo/PSALM 24:1-2, 3-4, 5-6.

R. (7c and 10b) Let the Lord enter; he is king of glory.

The LORD's are the earth and its fullness;
the world and those who dwell in it.
For he founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.

R. Let the Lord enter; he is king of glory.

Who can ascend the mountain of the LORD?
or who may stand in his holy place?
One whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean,
who desires not what is vain.

R. Let the Lord enter; he is king of glory.

He shall receive a blessing from the LORD,
a reward from God his savior.
Such is the race that seeks for him,
that seeks the face of the God of Jacob.

R. Let the Lord enter; he is king of glory.

Maikadua a Mabasa
Romano/ROMANS 1:1-7

Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus,
called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God,
which he promised previously through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
the gospel about his Son, descended from David according to the flesh,
but established as Son of God in power
according to the Spirit of holiness
through resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Through him we have received the grace of apostleship,
to bring about the obedience of faith,
for the sake of his name, among all the Gentiles,
among whom are you also, who are called to belong to Jesus Christ;
to all the beloved of God in Rome, called to be holy.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Alleluia
Mateo/MATTHEW 1:23

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

The virgin shall conceive, and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel.

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Mateo/MATTHEW 1:18-24

[Nabulod ti ladawan a nausar]

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about.
When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph,
but before they lived together,
she was found with child through the Holy Spirit.
Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man,
yet unwilling to expose her to shame,
decided to divorce her quietly.
Such was his intention when, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,
"Joseph, son of David,
do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home.
For it is through the Holy Spirit
that this child has been conceived in her.
She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus,
because he will save his people from their sins."
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,
which means "God is with us."
When Joseph awoke,
he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him
and took his wife into his home.

Ti Pammaneknek ni Juan a Mammuniag

[Nabulod ti ladawan a nausar]

Ti Pammaneknek ni Juan a Mammuniag
Mabasa Ita Nga Aldaw
Naadaw iti Surat ni San Juan 1: 1-28

Agbalin a Tao ti Sao
Sakbay a naparsua ti lubong, addan ti Sao., ket ti Sao adda idi iti Dios, ket no ania ti Dios, kasta met ti Sao. Manipud idi punganay, adda ti Sao iti Dios. Pinarsua ti Dios dagiti isuamin babaen kenkuana; ket awan ti naparsua no di babaen kenkuana.
Adda idi kenkuana ti biag, ket daytoy a biag isu ti silaw dagiti tattao. Agraniag ti silaw iti sipnget, ket di mabalinan ti sipnget nga iddepen.
Imbaon ti Dios ti maysa a tao nga agnagan iti Juan. Immay a mangpaneknek kadagiti tattao maipapan ti silaw tapno mamati dagiti amin a manakangngeg kenkuana. Saan nga isu a mismo ti silaw, ngem immay tapno paneknekanna ti maipapan iti silaw. Daytoy ti pudno a silaw, ti silaw nga umay ditoy lubong, ken mangalawag kadagiti amin a tattao.
Ngarud, adda idin ti Sao ditoy lubong. Pinarsua ti Dios ti lubong babaen kenkuana; nupay kasta, saan a nabigbig ti lubong.
Napan iti ilina, ngem saan nga inawat dagiti kailianna. Ngem kadagiti amin nga immawat ken namati kenkuana, inikkanna ida ti kalintegan nga agbalin nga annak ti Dios kas iti kadawyan a pannakaipasngay ti tao; ta ti Dios a mismo ti Amada.
Nagbalin a tao ti Sao ket nakipagtaeng kadatayo. Nakitami ti dayagna a napnoan iti parabur ken kinapudno. daytoy idi ti dayag nga inawatna kas kakaisuna nga Anak ti Ama.
Pinaneknekan ni Juan ti maipapan kenkuana ket impukkawna: "Isu daytoy ti ibagbagak kadakayo idi kinunak, 'Sumarsaruno kaniak, ngem natantan-ok ngem siak, ta addan sakbay a nayanakak.'"
Iti kinabuslon ti paraburna, inawattayo amin a bendisionna: wen, agsasaruno a bendision ti impaayna kadatayo. Ta inted ti Dios ti Linteg babaen ken Moises; ngem immay ti parabur ken kinapudno babaen ken Jesu-Cristo. Awan pay nakakita iti Dios. Ti laeng Maymaysa, a kas iti Dios ken adda iti Ama; isu ti nangipakaammo kenkuana.

Ti Pammaneknek ni Juan a Mammuniag
[Mat 3: 1-12; Mar 1: 1-8; Luc 3: 1-18]
Daytoy ti pammaneknek ni Juan kadagiti papadi ken Levita nga imbaon dagiti Judio nga adda idiay Jerusalem nga agsaludsod kenkuana, "Siasinoka?"
Saan a naglibak ni Juan. "Saan a siak ti Cristo," impudnona.
"Siasinoka ngarud?" sinaludsodda manen. "Sika kadi ni Elias?"
"Saan a siak," insungbat ni Juan.
"Sika kadi ti Profeta?" kinunada.
"Saan," insungbatna.
"Ibagam ngarud no siasinoka," kinunada. "Masapul nga adda isungbatmi kadagiti nangibaon kadakami. Ania ti masaom maipapan kenka?"
Insungbat ni Juan ti impadto ni profeta Isaias:
"Siak ti timek ti maysa nga agpukpukkaw iti let-ang:
Palintegenyo ti dalan a pagnaan ti Apo!"
Adda sumagmamano a naibaon a naggapu kadagiti Fariseo. Sinaludsodda ken Juan, "No saan a sika ti Cristo, wenno ni Elias, wenno ti Profeta, apay ngarud a mamumbuniagka?"
"Mamuniagak iti danum," insungbat ni Juan, "ngem makipulpulapol kadakayo ti maysa a diyo am-ammo. Sumarsaruno kaniak, ngem diak maikari a mangukas iti kordon ti sapatosna."
Napasamak amin dagitoy idiay Betania, iti ballasiw ti karayan Jordan a pamumbuniagan ni Juan.

Umuna a Mabasa
Isaiah/ISAIAH 35:1-6a, 1o

[Nabulod ti ladawan a nausar]

The desert and the parched land will exult;
the steppe will rejoice and bloom.
They will bloom with abundant flowers,
and rejoice with joyful song.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to them,
the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
they will see the glory of the LORD,
the splendor of our God.
Strengthen the hands that are feeble,
make firm the knees that are weak,
say to those whose hearts are frightened:
Be strong, fear not!
Here is your God,
he comes with vindication;
with divine recompense
he comes to save you.
Then will the eyes of the blind be opened,
the ears of the deaf be cleared;
then will the lame leap like a stag,
then the tongue of the mute will sing.

Those whom the LORD has ransomed will return
and enter Zion singing,
crowned with everlasting joy;
they will meet with joy and gladness,
sorrow and mourning will flee.

Responsorio ti Salmo a Pagsurnad
Salmo/PSALM 146:6-7, 8-9, 9-1o

R. (cf. Is 35:4)  Lord, come and save us.
or:
R. Alleluia.

The LORD God keeps faith forever,
secures justice for the oppressed,
gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets captives free.

R. Lord, come and save us.
or:
R. Alleluia.

The LORD gives sight to the blind;
the LORD raises up those who were bowed down.
The LORD loves the just;
the LORD protects strangers.

R. Lord, come and save us.
or:
R. Alleluia.

The fatherless and the widow he sustains,
but the way of the wicked he thwarts.
The LORD shall reign forever;
your God, O Zion, through all generations.

R. Lord, come and save us.
or:
R. Alleluia.

Maikadua a Mabasa
Santiago/JAMES 5:7-1o

Be patient, brothers and sisters,
until the coming of the Lord.
See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth,
being patient with it
until it receives the early and the late rains.
You too must be patient.
Make your hearts firm,
because the coming of the Lord is at hand.
Do not complain, brothers and sisters, about one another,
that you may not be judged.
Behold, the Judge is standing before the gates.
Take as an example of hardship and patience, brothers and sisters,
the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

Alleluia
Isaiah/ISAIAH 61:1 (cited in Lk 4:18)

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to bring glad tidings to the poor.

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Mateo/MATTHEW 11:2-11

[Nabulod ti ladawan a nausar]

When John the Baptist heard in prison of the works of the Christ,
he sent his disciples to Jesus with this question,
"Are you the one who is to come,
or should we look for another?"
Jesus said to them in reply,
"Go and tell John what you hear and see:
the blind regain their sight,
the lame walk,
lepers are cleansed,
the deaf hear,
the dead are raised,
and the poor have the good news proclaimed to them.
And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me."

As they were going off,
Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John,
"What did you go out to the desert to see?
A reed swayed by the wind?
Then what did you go out to see?
Someone dressed in fine clothing?
Those who wear fine clothing are in royal palaces.
Then why did you go out?  To see a prophet?
Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
This is the one about whom it is written:
Behold, I am sending my messenger ahead of you;
he will prepare your way before you.
Amen, I say to you,
among those born of women
there has been none greater than John the Baptist;
yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."
